American companies are finding that Orega Birmingham is ticking all the boxes - from offered services to office location. Two US-owned companies – Reach Local and UK Power Reserve - have signed for flexible office space in the building in the last month, taking a total of 35 workstations between them.

Reach Local, a leading player in the local online advertising industry, has signed for a total of 25 workstations on a 12-month contract. Launched in the UK in 2008, the company already has a London and Manchester base, and offices throughout North America and Australia. Its international headquarters are in Woodland Hills, California, and its mission is to help small and medium-sized businesses acquire, maintain and retain customers via the internet.

UK Power Reserve is part of Walters Power International which supplies, develops, services and manages electrical generation power plants around the world. The Oklahoma City-based group has taken 10 desks in the Orega business centre for 12 months for its UK headquarters. Walters Power first entered the UK market in 2009 with an 8MW plant in Yorkshire, the first of an expected series of small power plants to be developed by the company to address anticipated peak power shortages.

Caron Salter-Hill, Orega’s business centre manager in Birmingham, says: “Our business centre appears to meet all the requirements of US companies looking for a toehold in the UK market or a sound Midlands base. It’s a modern, good looking building in a prime area of the city centre, not far from motorway, railway and airport connections, and – importantly – it gives them the flexibility to expand or consolidate depending on how quickly the business grows.”
