In less than three months, Orega has signed ten new clients to its business centre at 10 Victoria Street in Bristol, taking occupancy of the centre to 90%.
The flurry of new business includes companies from both cutting-edge new technology industries and traditional professional services who, between them, have taken 126 workstations on the ground and first floor, which total 16,000 sq ft.
The largest new signing is Smart Traffic, one of the UK’s leading search engine optimisation (SEO) companies, which has agreed to take 1,900 sq ft on the ground floor for up to 40 workstations. This space features a Grade II listed wall, believed to date from Victorian times, which was one of the many factors that enticed the company to relocate from a nearby building.
Smart Traffic co-founder and CEO Andy Birt says: “This new space is not only larger but definitely has the ‘wow’ factor, with great period features and an environment that will hopefully encourage much greater productivity in our expert team. We hope this move will allow us to continue to grow and build our team, and to continue to provide quality SEO services to our varied client base.”
Smart Traffic was founded in 2006 in Truro, Cornwall, and moved to Bristol in early 2010. It is relocating to meet the demands of its growing business which now services 1,000 clients worldwide.
Two further online businesses have joined the expanding client list at Ten Victoria Street: Mathletics and Mobcast. Mathletics, an online learning company used by over 3.5 million students and 10,000 schools internationally, has signed for 24 workstations and is relocating from John Street, Bristol. Mobcast, an online retail platform for digital books set up in 2007 by CEO Tony Lynch and author Andy McNab, has occupied four workstations.
They will be joined in early April by Target Group, one of the UK's leading providers of software and outsourcing solutions to financial services companies. The fast expanding company, which is headquartered in Cardiff, has taken 20 workstations and will move from Froomsgate House, Bristol.
Amanda Blakemore, regional sales manager for Orega, comments: “Since December, we have seen a fantastic uplift in signings at Ten Victoria Street, resulting in ten new clients and almost full occupancy. Despite the competitive market in Bristol, we have been able to offer a very attractive working environment in a highly visible and central location. This, coupled with the flexibility we can provide to both growing and established businesses, has given us the edge in attracting many different types of company.”
Joining from the professional services sector, ISL Recruitment will take occupation of 16 workstations this month, moving from Orchard Street, while Alexander Daniels, one of Birmingham’s largest firms of recruitment consultants, has set up a new Bristol base at Ten Victoria Street, with five workstations.
From the world of insurance, Gibson & Grace has established a new Bristol office with three workstations, adding to its practices in Cardiff and Newport, and internationally-renowned insurer Hiscox has occupied six workstations
Finally, two brand new start-ups, Shaw & Co LLP and Bristol Film & Media, have chosen Ten Victoria Street as the launch pad for their new businesses – respectively, corporate finance and video production for websites, promotional marketing and training.
Orega opened its Ten Victoria Street business centre in November 2010, having entered into a 10-year management agreement with Bristol-based developer and owner Deeley Freed Estates for 27,000 sq ft on three floors. The prominent building provides grade A office accommodation with air-conditioning, LG3 lighting, suspended ceiling, full access raised floors and shower facilities.
