Caroline impressed the four judges on the panel with Foodinate, a charity based business, forming partnerships with restaurants and food-giving charities. For every Foodinate-selected, drink or meal purchased in a collaborating restaurant will result in a meal for a local person in need. To date, Foodinate has partnered with 6 restaurants and provided 6,678 meals for those in need.
The Judges spoke about what impressed them the most about Caroline’s Pitch:
Founder of Socialmediastrategy.co.uk, Carole Fossey had this to say about Caroline: “She knocked her presentation out of the park and her understanding of what was needed to take the business to the next level was very clear.”
Mark Robinson, Head of Asset Management at Peel said “Caroline was accomplished and an all-round candidate who had a business ready to scale up right now.”
Caroline had this to say about winning the #StartMeUp Pitch: “I am absolutely delighted to have won the Orega #StartMeUp Pitch! I launched Foodinate just over 12 months ago, as a means to impact food poverty in the UK. It's been an incredible journey, and not only does winning this competition signal a monumental and potentially game-changing point in that journey, but it's the best 1st birthday celebration Foodinate could have asked for! I am confident that having such an amazing resource will help us massively in our mission to grow and expand our impact over the coming months."
The judges were very impressed with the calibre of entrepreneurs and are looking forward to watching the finalists grow their business!
