This year, Orega has five dedicated cyclists, who form #TeamOrega, cycling 400 miles in support of 1moreChild. These guys are all veterans of the pioneers challenge as they’ve all cycled at least 390miles for 1moreChild. Last year, #TeamOrega managed to raise more than £10,000 for the amazing charity. This year, they are suiting back up in their lycra to take on the Rome to Bari leg which will take place from 26–29 of May 2016.
Meet the Team:
Our very own Managing Director Zach Douglas is putting in pedal power for 1moreChild for the 3rd year in a row. Zach successfully completed Geneva to Milan in 2014 and Milan to Rome in 2015. The challenge started off as a way to support Orega’s chosen charity, 1moreChild, but has turned Zach into a machine on the bike – even biking to work on the days of 2015 tube strikes.
Joining Zach, is his brother Tristan Douglas who also completed the cycling trip from Geneva to Milan with Zach in 2014 and Milan to Rome in 2015. This year he is hoping his experience on the bike will push him through the challenge – Tristan is also a huge fan of the work 1moreChild do in Uganda and will keep them in mind when the going gets tough.
Andrew Waugh usually struggles to get out of bed early enough for a morning bike ride, but for 1moreChild, he’ll do it all over again! He’ll be bringing the humour and lack of talent again this year to boost the morale of the team.
Tom Leefe had no clue what he was about to put himself through when he said yes to the 390 mile cycling challenge last year, but he’s suiting up to do it all again this year for the children of 1moreChild. His strength in the flats are what he’s known for and he’s hoping there won’t be as many hills this time!
Rounding out #TeamOrega is Instant Offices’ John Williams who has plenty of experience on the bike and putting himself through physical exertion. Last year he added his first Ride25 cycling challenge to his list of achievements, which already includes cycling London to Cannes.
We are absolutely thrilled to have these five riders representing #TeamOrega this year - who are putting their bodies on the line once again for 1moreChild. Please show your support for our team and 1moreChild by donating here.
