In October, Orega will be in Manchester’s tech hub, MediaCityUK attending their Interact event. As with all our business centres, we like to immerse ourselves into the local community and this event will be the perfect platform to carry on our fundraising effort and build awareness for 1moreChild. Take on the Challenge and help us raise money for this great cause!

We are raising money for Ugandan based children’s charity 1moreChild.  This small organisation is dedicated to providing education, shelter, health supplies, care and support to some of the poorest children in the world. We decided to support this charity as it stands out from the rest – 1moreChild ensures 100% of every donation goes directly to the children’s needs.

Orega’s Co-founder, Zach Douglas, has already completed a 350-mile cycling challenge from Geneva to Milan raising £10,000 for 1moreChild - click here to watch Zach in action. And now we are all set for our next fundraising effort at our newest business centre location, Orega MediaCity.

The idea is that passers by will ride as far as they can in 90 seconds on a stationary bike desk competing against each other, while as a collective trying to catch Zach’s 350-mile achievement.

There are two parts to the #CatchZach challenge; firstly there is a competition to see who can cycle the furthest in 90 seconds. The male and female who achieve the greatest distance in 90 seconds will be announced as ‘MediaCity’s Fastest Deskercycle’ and will win the perfect exercise companion, an iPod nano. The second part of the challenge is to reach a target of 350miles which Zach cycled in his fundraising effort and setting the bar for the next #CatchZach challenge. Each cyclist’s miles will be added up and their name will be put into a prize draw to win an iPad mini which will be drawn once the target is reached.

Local lad Chris Latham, a Team Sky British Cyclist will be at the event and will no doubt be aiming for a spot on the leader board.

Natural Beverages are our official drinks sponsor for the event and delicious juice will be handed out during the event.

RioDesigns & Gymworld have kindly donated 2 stationary bikes with adjustable desktops, for the event. We have dubbed them the “Deskercycles”.

The Princes Trust will be helping out at the event and 50% of the cash donations made will be going to this fantastic charity.

Ride25, who Zach did his Geneva to Milan challenge with have lent us bike jerseys for the event.

If you are in Manchester on the 16th, come along to MediaCityUK and saddle up for the glory of becoming Orega’s Fastest ‘Deskercycler’. Each contributor to the #CatchZach Challenge will be rewarded for their efforts.
