We're back in Slough and pleased to announce the acquisition of 21,023 sq ft of office space at The Switch, formerly home to Amazon.
Located alongside many multinational headquarters such as HTC, O2 and Black & Decker, The Switch is exceptionally well-connected to Slough station, Heathrow airport and the M4 motorway; and with the addition of the Crossrail in 2019, it'll be a short commute to London's city centre.
The recently refurbished 'Grade A' office building is sure to impress visitors and employees alike with its striking new entrance canopy, a grand reception area, private lockers, new shower and changing rooms, an on-site refreshment facility as well as bicycle storage space.
James Smith, National Director at LaSalle Investment Management, said: “We recognise that occupiers are increasingly looking for buildings that provide them with good quality core and flex space to enable them to manage their occupational costs efficiently. This is particularly evident in key growth centres like Slough which is undergoing structural transformation with the arrival of Crossrail and the regeneration of its town centre. We believe that Orega will be a great partner for us at The Switch given their breadth of experience in the West London and Thames Valley markets and will help us to build upon the successes we have already had in the building."
Robin Pugh, Real Estate Director at Orega, said: "Orega is excited to be partnering with LaSalle at The Switch. Slough has long been established as a base for generating trade and industry with one of the highest concentrations of global headquarters in the UK outside of London. This accompanied with the addition of Crossrail to an already comprehensive transport mix makes it a brilliant time for Orega to return to Slough."
The building works to fit out the centre in Orega's style will be finished by summer 2019 and will provide office space for 380 workstations.
